{"title":"ICP Forests","id":{"prefix":"https:\/\/deims.org\/networks\/","suffix":"4e44c094-f4f7-4882-bfe5-685b666a0dc7"},"type":"network","created":"2019-12-02T13:07:37+01:00","changed":"2021-12-13T15:58:25+01:00","attributes":{"abstract":"The International Co-operative Programme on Assessment and Monitoring of Air Pollution Effects on Forests (ICP Forests) was launched in 1985 under the Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution (Air Convention, formerly CLRTAP) of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).\r\n\r\nICP Forests monitors forest condition at two monitoring intensity levels:\r\n\r\nThe Level I monitoring is based on a systematic transnational grid of 16 x 16 km throughout Europe and beyond to gain insight into the geographic and temporal variations in forest condition.\r\nThe Level II intensive monitoring has the aim to clarify cause-effect relationships in selected forest ecosystems.\r\n\r\nAt present 42 countries in Europe and beyond participate in ICP Forests.\r\nThis site gives in overview about ICP Forests sites registered in DEIMS.\r\n\r\nRemark:\r\nThe code in brackets following the site name consists of the ICP Forests \u0022country code\u0022 and the \u0022plot code\u0022.
