La Estaci\u00f3n de Biologia Tropical Los Tuxtlas se ubica sobre la carretera Catemaco-Monte P\u00edo en el municipio de San Andr\u00e9s Tuxtla, Veracruz, M\u00e9xico. La vegetaci\u00f3nes es bosque primario conocido como selva alta perennifolia. Es internacionalmente reconocida como uno de los sitios con mayor investigaci\u00f3n en ecolog\u00eda de selvas en el mundo. Se realiza investigaci\u00f3n en fragmentos cercanos con ecosistemas razonablemente conservados y otros perturbados. Tambi\u00e9n se estudian algunos cuerpos de agua mayores, como las lagunas Escondida y Zacatal. Recientemente el estudio de la ecolog\u00eda de potreros y acahuales adyacentes ha sido importante. Por otro lado es conocido como un \u0022hotspot\u0022 de biodiversidad.
