Lake Kuivajärvi

Lake Kuivajärvi is humic mesotrophic boreal lake with surface area of 0.72 km² situated in Juupajoki, southern Finland (61°50’N, 24°17’E). The lake is surrounded by managed mixed coniferous forest and pristine or drained peatlands. Continuous measurements of carbon exchange between water and the atmosphere started in 2011 with flux measurement setup on a raft. More meteorological measurements are carried out on the shore and at the nearby SMEAR II main station, which is situated approximately 700 m east of the lake shore.
