Tovetorp Research Station (inaugurated 1969) is primarily designed for basic research and education in ecology and ethology. Around 2-3000 undergraduate students do field studies at Tovetorp each year since 1994. So far 51 Ph.D. students have graduated on studies done at Tovetorp. Facilities for animal keeping are excellent and we do have experience of keeping many different species, both vertebrates and invertebrates. More than 25 rooms can be used for keeping animals and in 10 rooms temperature can be controlled. In connection to the lab. there are small aviaries. Several large enclosures, in total more than 50 ha, can be used for the study of an array of different species. The land area surrounding Tovetorp is presently managed with the specific goal to increase biodiversity.
