Site Description
The Archipelago Research Institute (University of Turku) is a marine research station, located on the historical island of Seili in the middle region of the northern Baltic Archipelago Sea. The Institute participates in multidisciplinary research of the Baltic Sea, with a focus on the biological and geological condition the Archipelago Sea. The station was established in 1964. The site offers a variety of services for researchers, interested in e.g. environmental, evolutionary and ecological work in the archipelago, such as work spaces and laboratories equipped especially for marine research, modern field equipment, boat transportation and rental services. The site is available for use year round.
