Oberes Stubachtal - Austria, Vapor pressure

This data set contains daily and date values for a large number of meteorological and climatological parameters. Over time, there have been changes in the three climate observation dates (I, II, III) in Austria. Until 1971, the climate observation dates were set at 7, 14, 21 CET. From 1971 to 2003, they were set at 7, 14, 19 CET, and since 2003, they have been set at 7, 14, 19 CET. The date values represent the current measured values or observations at the specified times. The daily values are sums (e.g. for precipitation), mean values (e.g. air pressure), minima or maxima (e.g. air temperature) over 24 hours. Some measurement data in the data set has been available since the 18th century (e.g. temperature values for Vienna since 1775). In the past, the data was recorded at conventional, manual weather stations by eye observation or reading from instruments. Since the 1980s, these manual stations have been gradually replaced by (partially) automatic measuring stations. Currently, the GeoSphere Austria station network comprises approximately 260 measuring stations that automatically record the majority of meteorological variables. However, many weather stations continue to monitor weather and climate-relevant parameters manually, which are stored in this data set. These standardised and continuous climatological observations facilitate the recording of atmospheric conditions. The long-term climatological measurement series facilitate the analysis of the climate and the drawing of conclusions about climate change. The climate and the measuring stations of GeoSphere Austria cover all climate regions and altitude levels in Austria. The quality status of individual parameters can be found in the corresponding quality flags, the name of which ends in "flag." The data set is updated every 10 minutes on the basis of the archived databases, and retroactive changes may also occur due to the data check. The scope of the data set is continually being expanded through the digitisation of historical documents and data. The resulting data series do not necessarily have to be consistent. Sometimes there may be large gaps between very old and more recent data in the series, which can only be closed by further digitisation.
