Natura 2000 SAC Ropotamo

Natura 2000 SAC Ropotamo is located on the SW Black Sea coast. Its marine represents one of the largest marine spaces protected within the Natura 2000 network in the Bulgarian Black Sea. Water depths range between 0-75 m. The area features diverse marine habitats of national and European conservation importance, including sandbanks, rocky reefs, seagrass meadows, and biogenic reefs. SAC Ropotamo contains large parts of the Bulgarian national area of habitat types 1170 Reefs and 1110 Sandbanks which are slightly covered by sea water all the time, and is subjected to limited anthropogenic pressure, which makes it extremely important for coastal ecosystem maintenance and conservation.
